Childhood Development
Trauma
Dr. Nadine Burke Harris was a typical Dr. in her residency when she came across research that led to her complete change of how she approaches her clinical study, which led to a complete change in career. Dr. Vincent Felitt discovered that trauma as a child can lead further developmental issues which led to a program called aces which means averse childhood abuse. this study showed that many kids were being misdiagnosed with ADHD when in fact that wasn't the case and it was actually this abuse they went through. Below is a diagram on some of the issues that were related to these studies.
Personal Experience
This community is called a colonial it is a normal community
in south Texas where hundreds of below poverty families live
and it's normal yet most of America doesn't even know they exist.

In the study it talk about anyone with a score of 4 or higher is at the top of the list fore these issues. I have an ace score of 8 meaning this study effect me as I went through physical verbal and emotional abuse. This changed me and how I view the world and people and I wish to help the people that have gone through the same situations. In the summer I typically go on a mission trip to help with the McAllen part of Texas which many of these children I know have high scores on this chart as I do which means there at risk as well and I wish to be there for them and help guide these children and young adults in a path that best suits the lord and helps them develop into the best person the can be just by being there for them and giving advice. I feel like everyone should take there ace test and find out how at risk they are as a score higher then four leads to higher risk for future health problems.
What are we gonna do?
I feel like we need to educate all medical professionals on the issue and implementing into all medical practices as it is an important topic that could literally change someone's life. This could also lead to misdiagnosis of children and adults who have gone though some or many of these as it is already happening. We need to educate the general public as well so they know the causes and risk associated with these experiences and so they can better serve their children.
